WT Parker has provided their expertise in the installation of the electrical services to the new ward block at Warwick Hospital. The building consists of three floors connected to the existing Hospital creating 58 new beds in this state of the art extension.
The building is located at the rear of the hospital and has limited access with all the trades working in close proximity. At its peak WT Parker had over 14 electricians working on each floor. The majority of the services were located in the ceilings above the corridors linking together the distribution boards located at the opposite ends of the buildings on each floor. The main panel was located on the roof and at one point the panel and cable were installed as the walls to the plant room were being constructed.
Having worked at Warwick hospital for many years the team was aware of the requirements of the on-site engineers and has worked with the contractor and consultant in providing these requirements not only, power, data and lighting but also wiring the fire alarm system including void detection with over 400 heads then linking the new nurse call into the existing system.
Lightning protection and the external lighting were the final part of the installation
The ground floor was handed over in December 2015 followed by the first and second floor all complete for Christmas 2015.
