For this reason, we partner with a fully accredited roofing contractor which gives our clients peace of mind and the guarantee of a job professionally carried out. Air Source Heat Pumps
An air source heat pump is usually placed outside at the side or back of a property, and takes heat from the air and boosts it to a higher temperature using a heat pump. This heat is then used to heat radiators, underfloor heating or even warm air convectors and hot water in your home.
The pump needs electricity to run, but the idea is that it uses less electrical energy than the heat it produces.
Ground source heat pumps are also available. They draw heat from the ground via a network of water pipes buried underground, usually in your garden.
Voltage Optimisation is a well established and proven technology in the UK where electricity is supplied at an average of 242 volts, which is high, compared to other countries. Electrical equipment manufacturers produce products which can be used all over the world, products across Europe are designed to work across a wide voltage range 207v to 253 volts. Domestic and Commercial properties will benefit from the reduction in Voltage with many appliances operating efficiently at 220v. When your voltage exceeds this level energy is wasted in both heat and vibration, which reduces the life span and increases your costs.

Variable Speed Drives
Adjustable Speed drives (ASD) or Variable-Speed Drives (VSD) are used to control the speed of motors. Many fans and pumps over 5 years old are constant speed, by adding thermal or flow controls you can reduce the speed of the motors in line with demand this saving energy.
Many Ventilation systems are balanced by the use of Dampers and yet the fans are left to run flat out with the only control being a timer, Occupation or Co2 sensors can be used, connected direct to the fans thus reducing the speed and energy used in line with demand.
Heating pumps running all day with the only form of control being a by-pass on the system, install thermostats controlling the speed of the pumps through a VSD , saving energy!!!!

By using the power of the Sun , Solar Energy which is Free and clean is harnessed by using solar collectors , flat plate or Evacuated tube (Vacuum ), located on the roof, and used to transfer heat to a hot water cylinder providing free hot water alongside conventional water heating systems.
The Hot water system is supplemented by a secondary supply , immersion heater or boilers.
The systems can be mounted “in Roof” “On roof” or “framed” , maintenance costs being very low, with most systems having a five or ten year warranty, although periodic checks need to be carried out. Typical savings on your energy bills are between £70 and £80 a year although savings will vary from user to user, Carbon savings of around 250 to 350 KgCO2/year.
Ideal for commercial installations in Office blocks and factories where Hot water is used on a regular basis and the technology is an agreed measure under the Green Deal , being eligible for financing.
Domestic Solar Thermal, provided it is installed by an MCS installer, is subject to a payment of £600 under the RHPP ( Renewable Heat Premium Payment) ) and is expected that in April 2014 Solar Thermal will come under the RHI payments scheme with payments based on the amount of heat produced, ( KWH). For non – domestic applications Solar thermal using the same technologies up to 200 Kwth the RHI is dependent on the size of the system.

Ground Source Heat Pumps
A ground source heat pump uses pipes buried in the ground to extract heat , these pipes can be buried horizontal or vertical (Bore Holes) , this heat can then be used to heat radiators , Underfloor heating or warm air heating systems as well as hot water.
The pipework in the ground is the “ground Loop” which stays constant throughout the year, and using which is then passed through a compressor which raises the temperature and can then be used to heat the water for heating and hot water, the fluid then goes passes back into the ground where it is absorbed back into the ground. Heat pumps have some impact on the environment as they need electricity to run, but the heat they extract from the ground, the air, or water is constantly being renewed naturally.
In a new development for each Kilowatt of electricity used to run the heat pump three to four Kilowatts of heat can be generated, providing the quality of the design and installation are to the latest standard.
Ground source heat pump systems installed after July 2009 in commercial properties can apply to Ofgem to be paid around 10pence/KWH for 20 years.
